ASIA 399 Asian Fantastic Cinema (4) June 23–July 18. Demonstrates how Asian fantastic films reach beyond their entertainment quality in addressing questions of morality, loyalty, and social responsibility.

ASIA 399 Beijing Olympics (1) June 21–22. Explores the redesign of China’s national image, both domestically and internationally, as revealed through Chinese media reporting on the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Coreq: ASIA 405 (Reading and Conference: Beijing Olympics).
