CLAS 201 Greek Life and Culture (4) June 22–August 14. Uses literary sources, art, and architecture to examine Greek civilization from Mycenean times to the conquest of Rome. Chamberlain.
CLAS 399 Sports in the Ancient World (4) June 15–19. The classical roots of modern athletic competition, with an emphasis on the role of sports in ancient Greek and Roman education, religion, and politics. Chamberlain.
LAT 101, 102, 103 Basic Latin (5,5,5) June 22–July 17; July 20–August 14; August 17–September 4. Intensive course covers the fundamentals of Latin grammar so that students may enter LAT 301 fall term. Gerner.
LAT 199 Latin Review (4) June 22–August 14. Translation course based on selection of Roman authors. Recommended before taking LAT 301. Prereq: one year of Latin or equivalent.
