Noncredit participants may register for activity courses. They pay the same fee as for-credit students and enroll in person at 102 Esslinger Hall on or after June 22.
PEAE 131, 132 Body Sculpt I,II (1,1) June 22–July 17; July 20–August 12. Exercise techniques using body resistance, weights, tubing, and other resistive devices. Includes exercises for upper and lower body, low back, and abdominals. Includes stretching and relaxation. Self-support course fee, $65. Kawada.
PEAE 231, 232 Step Aerobics I, II (1,1) June 22–July 17; July 20–August 12. Low-impact activity that focuses on basic stepping techniques for the development of cardiorespiratory fitness. Also includes floor exercises for muscular endurance and flexibility. Self-support course fee, $65. Creighton
PEAS 368 Scuba: Basic (2) June 22–July 24. Preparation for an open-water dive through classroom and in-pool sessions on swimming skills, equipment use, and survival techniques. Leads to PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) certification. Includes a two- to three-day outing. Self-support course fee, $340. Prereq: beginning swimming experience. Vearrier.
PEAS 369 Scuba: Advanced (1) June 22–July 17. Techniques include underwater navigation, deep dive, night dive, and search and salvage. Leads to PADI certification; includes outing. Self-support course fee, $260. Prereq: open-water scuba certificate. Vearrier.
PEAS 372 Scuba: Altitude Diver (1) June 22–July 17. Familiarizes divers with skills, planning, organization techniques, procedures, problems, hazards, and enjoyment of diving at altitudes between 1,000 and 10,000 feet. Includes one-day outing. Prereq: PEAS 368. Self-support course fee, $160. Vearrier.
PEAS 378 Scuba: Nitrox (1) June 22–July 17. Examines the procedures, safety protocols, hazards, and theory of no-decompression diving with oxygen-enriched air; use of the recreational dive planner in table format. Prereq: basic scuba certification. Self-support course fee, $210. Vearrier.
PEAS 399 Scuba Instructor (2) June 12–18. Learn to teach and evaluate PADI standards and procedures, written materials, pool skills, and open-water sessions. Sessions held at Eugene Skin Divers. Self-support course fee, $1,360. Prereq: Dive Master II Certificate. Vearrier.
PEF 111 Stretch and Flex I (1) June 22–July 17; July 20–August 12. Workouts focus on increasing the student’s flexibility in all muscle groups. Time is devoted to muscular-endurance training and relaxation techniques. Self-support course fee, $65. Creighton, Radcliffe.
PEF 241 Group Cycling I (1) June 22–July 17. Indoor aerobic cycling training on state-of-the-art stationary bicycles. Self-support course fee, $65. Everson.
PEF 310 Nutrition and Performance (3) July 20–August 12. Explores the influence of nutrition on health and athletic performance. Includes body composition assessment, personal dietary and training behaviors, risks and benefits of dietary supplementation. Fee, $150. Radcliffe.
PEI 241 Golf I (1) June 22–July 30. Beginning golf. Emphasis on basic skills, especially the full swing and short game shots. Golf rules and etiquette. Eleven ninety-minute sessions. Includes four free nine-hole rounds outside of class. Self-support course fee, $120. Jeffries.

PEMB 211 Hatha Yoga (1) June 22–July 17; June 22–August 12. Learn beginning postures. Realize an increase in strength, balance, and flexibility of the mind and body. How breathing patterns affect the state of the mind. Self-support course fee, $65. Denby, Dobbie, Halliwill.
PEOL 251 Rock Climbing I (1) June 22–July 17; July 20–August 12. Learn the basics of safe and responsible climbing. Topics include equipment, knots, belaying, rappelling, basic anchor. Self-support course fee, $65. Crowe, Strong.
PEOL 285 Wilderness Survival (1) June 22–July 17. Topics include backcountry hazards, survival skills, search and rescue, low-impact camping, environmental issues. Includes one-day outing at Mount Pisgah with map and compass. Self-support course fee, $74. Strong.
PEOL 493 Wilderness First Responder (4) September 7–19. Intensive first-aid course designed to meet the needs of those who travel beyond the reach of conventional emergency services. Follows Wilderness Medical Society standards. Self-support course fee, $575. Miner.

PEW 211 Weight Training I (1) June 22–July 17; July 20–August 12. Values and basic techniques of weight training through a program designed to develop overall fitness. Self-support course fee, $65. Kawada, Rubino.
PEW 212 Weight Training II (1) June 22–July 17; July 20–August 12. Practice in lifts and weight-training techniques. Students develop personal programs in consultation with instructor.
